Kenneth Chen, a full scholarship student at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, Toronto, Canada.
Kenneth began learning piano at the age of 5 and has charmed audiences and judges a like with his thoughtful and musical interpretations. At nine years old, Kenneth began piano lessons with Dr. Michael Berkovsky, the teacher whom he still studies with today. Kenneth has also been fortunate enough to have participated in master classes with Marc-Andreé Hamelin, Hong-Kuan Chen, Katarzyna Popova-Zydron, Alexander Korsantia and Antonio Pompa-Baldi.
Kenneth won numerous top prizes at the Youth Music Festivals and Competitions including:
3rd prize in Poland Szafania international Chopin Competition 2024
2nd prize in Nashville International Chopin Competition 2023 and special prize for the best Nocturne.
1st Prize in 2023 Thousand Islands International Piano Competition
1st prize in 2022 Spotlight International Piano Competition
1st prize in 2020 Liszt Center Piano International Competition in Spain
1st prize in 2020 Piano League International Competition
Gold Award in WPTA - Finland International Piano Competition 2022
Kenneth was selected and awarded scholarships to participate Cleveland Piano Institute and PianoTexas summer camp, In PianoTexas, he made his orchestraldebut with the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra in June 2022, performing Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor in Van Cliburn Hall, Texas. In addition, Kenneth is a former member of the Canadian Badminton Junior National Team. He won a silver and a bronze medal for Canada at the Junior Pan Am Badminton Championship in Brazil.
