The 1000 Islands International Piano Festival and Competition has a history of generosity in its desire to recognize performers of the highest caliber. Prizes are not always awarded as indicated above. The jury measures competitors against a professional standard and reserves the right to: award multiple 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prizes; abstain from awarding a particular prize; split prizes between two competitors; award less than maximum prize money amounts listed depending on the performerances that year. Future performance opportunities may be offered to prize winners.
